Maine Sport to Donate 5% of Sales to Georges River Land Trust

For over forty years, Maine Sport Outfitters has been committed to providing both locals and tourists with top quality products, exceptional customer service and dynamic programs. As Maine Sport continues to strive to be an active member in the Midcoast Maine community, we are excited to announce our third Non-Profit Weekend of 2019.

When customers shop at Maine Sport Outfitters in Rockport or Camden during a Non-Profit Weekend, five percent of sales will be donated to a predetermined local organization. Our next Non-Profit Weekend will take place March 22nd-24th and will be benefitting the Georges River Land Trust.

Since 1987, the Georges River Land Trust has worked to conserve ecosystems and the traditional heritage of the Georges River watershed region through permanent land protection, stewardship, education and outdoor experiences. Funds raised during the upcoming Non-Profit Weekend will be going towards the second phase of their Oyster River Multi-use Trail in the Thomaston Town Forest. Open recently in October of 2018, the trail is a “collaborative effort to engage local youth in healthy outdoor experiences through the construction of a professional single-track multi-use path through the town-owned forest.”

After a two successful Non-Profit Weekends so far where $1,000 was donated to SunDog Outdoor Expeditions and $1,345 was donated to Coastal Mountains Land Trust, CEO Troy Curtis says he is “excited to keep the success and positive energy going.” Maine Sport is also currently holding a Blizzard Blowout Sale where select winter gear and apparel is up to 50% off. Troy mentioned that he hopes people take advantage of both the sale and opportunity to do good simultaneously.
