Maine Sport to Donate 5% of Sales to Trekkers

For over forty years, Maine Sport Outfitters has been committed to providing both locals and tourists with top quality products, exceptional customer service and dynamic programs. As Maine Sport continues to strive to be an active member in the Midcoast Maine community, we are excited to announce our fourth Non-Profit Weekend of 2019.

When customers shop at Maine Sport Outfitters in Rockport or Camden during a Non-Profit Weekend, five percent of sales will be donated to a predetermined local organization. Our next Non-Profit Weekend will take place April 5th - 7th and will be benefitting Trekkers.

Trekkers is a non-profit, outdoor-based mentoring program that connects young people with caring adults through expeditionary learning, community service and adventure-based education. With community adult volunteers working throughout the year, Trekkers provides myriad educational, experiential, and cross-cultural opportunities for young people, with an emphasis on relationship building and an appreciation of the earth as “educator”. Trekkers follows students as they “graduate” from one program into the next along a six-year journey that starts when they are in 7th grade and continues until they graduate.

Maine Sport Outfitters has put on three successful Non-Profit Weekends so far. SunDog Outdoor Expeditions received a check for $1,000 in January, the Coastal Mountains Land Trust received a check for $1,345 in February and the Georges River Land Trust will be receiving a check at the end of March.
